Unlike larger 8BitDo pads, the Lite 2's mode is set entirely by the physical back slider — there is no power-on button combo. It offers two positions only: S for Nintendo Switch and D for Android (D-input). The original 8BitDo Lite had a third 'X' (Windows X-input) position, but the Lite 2 does not. Each mode keeps its own pairing, so switching sliders and powering on reconnects to that platform's last host.
FAQ
- Where is the X (Windows) mode?
- The Lite 2 has no X-input mode — only S (Switch) and D (Android). That position existed on the original Lite, not the Lite 2.
- Do I re-pair every time I switch modes?
- No. Each mode remembers its last host, so it auto-reconnects; you only re-pair the first time you use a new mode or host.
