The Ultimate 2 Bluetooth uses a three-position Mode switch (S / BT / 2.4G) rather than the S/D/X slider on some older 8BitDo controllers. S is for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, BT is general Bluetooth, and 2.4G uses the bundled adapter for the lowest-latency wireless link on Windows. Set it before powering on with HOME, and pair once per mode. A USB-C cable also works for wired play.
FAQ
- Is there a separate X-input or D-input position?
- No. This model uses S / BT / 2.4G. On Windows it works as an Xbox-style controller over the 2.4G dongle or USB-C; on Bluetooth use the BT position.
- Do I have to re-pair when I change the switch?
- Only the first time you use a given mode. After that, each mode remembers its host, so HOME reconnects.
