Unlike 8BitDo's larger Pro controllers, the Micro changes platform with a physical slider on the back, not a button combo: S for Nintendo Switch, D for D-input (Android), and K for Keyboard mode. Each mode pairs separately, so switching positions means pairing once for that mode. Keyboard mode lets the buttons act as keystrokes on almost any Bluetooth device, and you customize those keys in the 8BitDo Ultimate Software mobile app.

FAQ

Why won't the Star/Turbo button work in my mode?
Turbo (via the Star button) only works in D-input mode with Android over Bluetooth. It is disabled in Switch mode and Keyboard mode.
Can I remap buttons in S or D mode?
No. The 8BitDo Ultimate Software only customizes the Micro in Keyboard (K) mode; S and D modes use fixed layouts.
