First-time pairing with a Nintendo Switch uses the controller's mode switch set to S and the PAIR button on the controller body. Power on with START, hold PAIR for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode, then add it from Change Grip/Order. After the first pairing it auto-reconnects whenever you lift it off the charging dock.
FAQ
- Where is the PAIR button?
- It is the small recessed PAIR button on the top edge of the controller, next to the USB-C port. The dock has its own pair button too.
- It won't show up in Change Grip/Order.
- Make sure the mode switch is on S and the status LED is fast-blinking. If not, hold PAIR 3s again to re-enter pairing mode.
