A factory reset restores default settings and clears stored pairings. Hold the PAIR button for about 5 seconds until the LED turns off. After resetting, delete the old "8BitDo" entry from your device's Bluetooth list before pairing again. For a soft fix, you can instead just re-enter pairing mode (hold PAIR 3s).

Reset vs. re-pair — what's the difference?
Re-pair (PAIR 3s) only re-advertises for a new host. A factory reset (PAIR ~5s, LED off) also wipes settings and stored pairings.
Will reset erase my custom profiles?
It restores controller defaults. Profiles created in 8BitDo Ultimate Software can be re-applied by reconnecting and re-syncing.
