  3. 3FAT32-format the microSD/TF card and extract the package to its root with 7-Zip.

  5. 5On CFW like Knulli, use its built-in factory-reset script instead of re-flashing.

The Brick keeps its system and games on the microSD card, so a clean reset means re-writing the card with TrimUI's SD base package and re-flashing the on-board firmware. Extract the base package with 7-Zip (other tools may corrupt it; it takes ~10–15 minutes). Custom firmwares such as Knulli ship their own factory-reset/wipe script that rebuilds the systems folder. Note that a factory reset clears stored Wi-Fi passwords.

FAQ

Will a reset delete my save files?
Re-writing the card replaces everything on it. Copy the Saves (and Roms/BIOS) folders to your PC before you start so you can restore them afterward.
Is there an in-menu factory reset on stock OS?
Stock TrimUI OS is reset by re-flashing the SD base package. CFW like Knulli adds a dedicated factory-reset script in its tools.
