Firmware updates are delivered through 8BitDo Ultimate Software over a wired USB-C connection — Bluetooth is not used for flashing. Updates regularly improve connection stability, input latency and platform compatibility, so it's the first thing to try when something behaves oddly. Use a data-capable USB-C cable; charge-only cables won't enumerate the device.

FAQ

The software doesn't see my controller.
Swap to a known data USB-C cable, try another port, and make sure the controller is powered on. Charge-only cables are the usual culprit.
